31 House Cleaning Tips – A Colab with Redfin

Redfin recently asked us to contribute to an article on Cleaning Tips

It may be stating the obvious, but I really do love sharing cleaning tips. In a little over 16 years, I’ve cleaned hundreds of homes myself. Green Clean Maine has cleaned thousands. We’ve also trained hundreds of people to clean professionally.

After cleaning that many homes, and teaching that many people how to clean like a pro, you end up with some tips to share.

So I was happy to oblige when Jamie from Redfin reached out.

Redfin is one of my favorite sites to indulge in escapist real estate fantasies. I love their desktop user interface and their maps. It’s also one of the sites we use to help assess homes we are estimating for our cleaning services.

The article, titled “31 Cleaning Tips that Professionals Swear By,” does a good job of laying out some important highlights of a successful home cleaning regimen. What I enjoyed most about the article is that Jamie reached out to house cleaning service owners around the country. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen so many different cleaning pros featured in one article! So you will get well-rounded advice.

Of course, the easiest way to make home cleaning easier is to hire a pro to do the work for you. In another post, I’ll outline what to look for in a home cleaning service, but since you’re here, check out our online estimator – then you can decide if you’d rather DIY your cleaning or focus on something else!

Reach out anytime with a cleaning problem – I’m happy to help solve it.

  • Looking to gift yourself precious time? Oh, look no further than Green Clean Maine to take care of the task of cleaning house. I have been a happy customer since 2008 (!) for both my home and business locations. Owner Joe is a gem, and has assembled teams of friendly, professional, accommodating, hard-working, trustworthy employees you can feel confident and comfortable about when in your home or office (holla, Britt & Hannah!). Their homemade products are a sensory delight, as are the little surprises they leave for the kids (a vignette of their toys playing or roses made out of toilet paper!).
