Vaccinations Underway!
One year and three weeks after we temporarily shut our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn’t be happier to report that the first of our team has been fully vaccinated. Several more have secured appointments in the coming weeks.
That we have come this far in the fight against this virus in just over a year is nothing short of a miracle of modern science and medicine. We all owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the thousands of scientists and medical professionals responsible for this moonshot. These dedicated citizens of our global community will be in my thoughts for years to come.
Paying it Forward
We have decided not to require our staff to be vaccinated. Instead, we will pay bonuses of $250 to anyone vaccinated by July 1, with an extra $50 for those vaccinated by May 14th. Many will be eligible for the full $300 and I couldn’t be happier.
Because appointments are tough to come by, we are working as a team to book for each other. Each day at key times when vaccine openings are released, office-based team members load the major scheduling websites. Then they hit refresh enthusiastically, as if in line for tickets for a rock concert. Once a spot is secured, we sign up the next employee from our “please help me get vaccinated” list.
I have to admit, it makes booking vaccine appointments sort of fun.
I said it in my last post and I’ll say it again – I couldn’t be more grateful for the team we have here at GCM, and for the incredible clients who have supported us so steadfastly through this pandemic. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
